President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi Adeyeye Ojaja II; the Olubadan designate, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, and many other dignitaries on Monday honoured Dr Solomon Moses Oni Mustapha a.k.a (Baba Sebioba) on the occasion of his 55th Birthday Anniversary held in Ibadan, Oyo State.

A large number of guests from within and outside of Nigeria thronged the Gberemu Idi-Obi, Ibadan venue of the ceremony to honour the renowned philanthropist and grassroots mobiliser.

The occasion was also used to honour some sons and daughters in Yorubaland who have distinguished themselves in their chosen fields of endeavour with the Sebioba Award.

Among beneficiaries of the award are the octogenarian veteran Actor Chief Olalere Paimo (a.k.a Eda Onile Ola), MFR; Actor and film producer, Kunle Afod; Olanrewaju Olalekan; Femi Fisayo; Babatunde Olapade Obadare, and Babatunde Oluwapelumi Salako.

Others are Olanipekun Olalekan Adekunle; Dr (Engr) Otunba Dayo Ajiteru (Bishop Ori Radio, Gbedu); Princess Akindoyin Tope Olusola; Adekunle John T; Ajayi Samson Oluwaseun; Beatrice Adebusuyi Allen (Mrs), and Adegbite Peter Oluwasola.

President Tinubu was at the event represented by a foremost June 12 activist, Comrade Awa Bamiji, while the President’s Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila was represented by Mrs Omotayo Gbajabiamila.

The Ooni of Ife was represented by the Salu of Edun-Abon, Oba Oladepo Olatunji Kehinde, while the Olu of Temidire, a Royal father of the hosting Community stood in for the Olubadan.

Awa Bamiji, while addressing pressmen at the event, congratulated the celebrant and the awardees. He appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the Tinubu Administration “because various policy reforms that were put in place by the Government will start yielding fruits soon”.

He noted that the major problem in the country was insecurity, adding that “the moment government succeeds in bringing it down to the bearest minimum, there will be a corresponding increase in the farm produce which in turn will benefit the suffering masses.”

“On behalf of my leader of decades in the Civil Society movements, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I thank Baba Sebioba for his clear vision of victory for Mr President ahead of the 2023 Presidential Election.

“I also thank him for donating a car to a core progressive, elder statesman and veteran actor, Chief Lere Paimo, MFR, alias Eda Onile Ola, a gesture which Kunle Afod also supported with N500,000.

“We thank him for his other philanthropist deeds too numerous to mention which have positively touched many lives. We wish him more purposeful years to continue his great service to humanity,” Bamiji said.
