Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has stated that his colleague, Timi Dakolo’s song, ‘Great Nation’ would have made a better national anthem than the old anthem which the country returned to.

President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday signed the National Anthem Bill 2024 into law to reinstate the old anthem, “Nigeria, We Hail Thee.”

Reacting, Adekunle Gold wondered why those in authority did not consider Timi Dakolo’s ‘Great Nation’ as the country’s new anthem.

“No one thought Timi Dakolo’s Great Nation makes a better anthem?” Gold wrote on his X handle.
