Multiple award-winning Nigerian record producer Michael Collins Ajereh, also known as Don Jazzy has reckoned that Nigerians are not receptive to female musicians.

The Mavin Records boss said it is sad that Nigerians don’t consume much music from female artistes compared to their male counterparts despite their hard work.

A netizen with the X handle @Lahon199x had raised concerns over the issue, saying Nigerian female artists have more chances of becoming global A-list than in Nigeria.

“Nigerians in general are still not receptive to Female music. You will see female dominating or at least equal to the men in other countries music industry. But In Nigeria?..Our female artistes have more chances of being A-list globally than being A-list in Nigeria,” the X user wrote.

Reposting his tweet, Don Jazzy wrote, “And it’s so sad. The women put in soooo much work.”

Jazzy co-founded the now-defunct record label Mo’ Hits Records in 2004 with his former business partner, Oladapo Oyebanj, a.k.a D’banj.
