Afrobeats sensation Joseph Akinfenwaa Donus, popularly known as Joeboy, has revealed the inspiration behind his hit song ‘Better.’

The ‘Adenuga’ crooner explained that he wrote the song in a bid to shed light on domestic violence against women.

He disclosed this in a recent interview with popular media personality, Vivz.

Joeboy stated that sometimes women are not treated “properly” in African society.

The host said: “‘Better’ is my favourite song ever. In that song, it’s like you’re speaking up for a woman that has been treated badly by another man.”

Joeboy said: “It’s something that happens a lot in African society; domestic abuse. Sometimes women are maltreated and not treated properly. I wanted to shed light on domestic violence against women.”
