"Stop harmful chemicals in food storage" - Soludo's wife warns traders

Dr. Nonye Soludo, the wife of the Anambra Governor, has urged traders to avoid harmful chemicals in food preservation

Soludo addressed traders at Nkwo Nnewi Market, as part of her ongoing Healthy Living Market outreach.

During her speech, she emphasized the importance of refraining from using harmful chemicals for food storage, citing potential risks to human health.

Soludo noted that many traders resort to chemicals to preserve their food products, unaware of the health hazards they pose.

She cautioned against the use of such substances, noting their contribution to life-threatening diseases.

Stressing the need for safer food handling practices, she urged traders to prioritize human health over preservation convenience.

Also, Soludo emphasized the significance of environmental and personal hygiene for creating healthier market environments and communities.

Her efforts received appreciation from Mr. Humphery Anuna, President-General of the Anambra State Amalgamated Traders Association, who noted the positive impact of the Healthy Living campaign on residents’ lives.

Anuna commended the governor’s wife for her dedication to improving public health and hygiene standards.

He expressed gratitude for her provision of essential hygiene supplies to support the initiative’s objectives.
