The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has said the woman, Funmi Faith seen in a viral video maltreating a child has been arraigned in Court.
This is contained in a statement issued by Adejoke Ladenegan-Oginni, Head, Public Affairs Unit, Lagos DSVA.
“We wish to inform the public that the woman identified in the viral video mal-treating a child, has been arraigned in Court 5, Ogba Magistrate Court, Ikeja today the 7th of June, 2024,” the statement said.
The statement said Faith, 32, would be remanded in custody pending the issuance of the Director of Public Prosecutions’ (DPP) legal advice.
The DSVA assured the public that the child had been placed under the care of the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development, ensuring she received the proper care and shelter she needed.
“The Lagos State Government remains committed to protecting the rights and well-being of children and will continue to work diligently to ensure justice is served in this case.
