NFF denies knowledge of Finidi’s resignation

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau, says he does not know about the reported resignation of Super Eagles coach, Finidi George.

Ex- NFF media officer, Toyin Ibitoye had written on his X handle that Finidi had resigned.

He wrote: “News just in. Finidi George #FinidiGeorge_FG has resigned from his #NGSuperEagles manager position.”

But according to The PUNCH, Gusau through a response to a query via WhatsApp said he was not yet aware of the resignation.

Finidi had been under fire since the Super Eagles lost to the Squirrels of Benin in the a World Cup qualifier.

The NFF had afterwards taken a decision to hire a foreign Technical Adviser for the Super Eagles.
