Jude Bellingham celebrates his goal

Jude Bellingham’s superb header early in the match gave England a lone goal victory over Serbia in their opening match at Euro 2024 in Germany.

The goal came in the 13th minute of the match. Bukayo Saka displayed his great technique and produced a beautiful lofted cross deep into the box. Bellingham got onto the scoresheet by superbly heading it into the roof of the net.

In the 26th minute, Kyle Walker broke past challenges inside the box, but put too much pace on his pass to Harry Kane as the ball went out of play.

In the 59th minute, Filip Mladenovic played a pass into the box, but Jordan Pickford reacted well to snuff out the attack.

Harry Kane was unlucky not to have scored in the 77th minute. Kane jumped and powered a precise header towards the roof of the net. The goalkeeper made a spectacular reflex save and the ball deflected off his gloves onto the crossbar.

Dusan Vlahovic, in the 82nd minute got to the rebound on the edge of the penalty area and fired a shot towards the roof of the net, but Jordan Pickford got a hand to it and kept it out.
