Lagos cholera cases now 421


The Lagos state suspected cholera cases have jumped from 417 to  to 421.

The Commissioner for Health, Akin Abayomi announced the increase in the cases via  his Instagram handle @profakinabayomi on Saturday.

He said: “As of June 20, 2024, an additional four suspected cholera cases have been reported, as illustrated in the accompanying graph,” he wrote.

Abayomi had on Friday reported that the suspected cholera cases in Lagos were 417. He said 35 cholera cases across the 20 Local Government Areas had been confirmed among the 417 suspected cases.

He also said that the  cholera death toll  in Lagos had now has risen to 24. says the Commissioner for Health, Prof Akin Abayomi.

Abayomi who disclosed this via his Instagram handle on Friday, also said

“Let’s adhere strictly to personal and environmental hygiene. Let’s stay safe #ForAGreaterLagos,” he had said.
