Elated litigants and Lagosians who throng the Tinubu Magistrates’ Court daily to attend to their matters have praised the Chief Judge (CJ) of Lagos State, Mr Kazeem Alogba for listening to their complaints about the inadequate power supply to the Tinubu Magistrates’ Court and providing 24-hour solar power supply for the Court to ensure the comfort of Magistrates, litigants and workers during court proceedings.

They also commended Mr Alogba for changing the face of the Tinubu Court by rehabilitating the court and replacing all the worn-out doors and windows which had been there since 1926.

The litigants also commended the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu for supporting Mr Alogba in changing the face of courts in Lagos State.

The newly installed Solar power at the Tinubu Magistrates’ Court

Some of those who spoke with P.M.NEWS at the Tinubu Court and other courts in Lagos said that by addressing their plights, CJ Mr Kazeem Alogba had proven to be one of the best Chief Judges Lagos has ever produced.

The Litigants, therefore, appealed to Alogba to complete his good works in the Judiciary by opening the already rehabilitated Igbosere Magistrates’ Court for public use to stop the assignments of cases from Tinubu Magistrates to other Igbosere Magistrates’ Courts sitting at Ebute-Metta, Oyingbo, Surulere and Yaba Magistrates’.

This, they said was to end the stress Investigating Police Officers, IPOs and Police prosecuting counsels were passing through in prosecuting cases.

The journey to providing solar energy for Tinubu Magistrates’ Court started in March 2023 following a publication by P.M.NEWS of the complaints by litigants about the generator at the court that was always switched off by 2 pm even when Magistrates were still sitting and in the process plunged the whole court into darkness amid the heat.

Following the publication, CJ Alogba swung into action and paid an unannounced visit to the Tinubu Court to see things for himself. He met some dedicated Magistrates still sitting despite that the generator at the court had been switched off by 2 pm.

The CJ immediately installed high-powered battery solar energy at the court and since then, there has been seamless service delivery at the court to the delights of litigants and court users.

According to Mr Lookman Ajayi, “I thank CJ Alogba for listening to our complaint over power supply to Tinubu Court and providing solar power for the court and that is what leadership is all about. For that, I see Mr Alogba as one of the best Chief Judges Lagos has ever produced.”
