The All Progressives Congress (APC) announced on Tuesday in Abuja that it has adopted electronic registration to accurately determine the true number of its members nationwide.

Suleiman Argungu, the National Organising Secretary of the party, made this statement during a courtesy visit by Mrs Ronke Soyombo, the National Director of the APC Professional Women Council.

Argungu highlighted concerns about the accuracy of previous membership figures, especially following the discrepancies noticed during the 2022-2023 period and the subsequent presidential election.

He emphasized that the party has now embraced e-registration to ensure a precise count of members across wards, local governments, and states.

“We aim to verify our grassroots support and ensure accurate membership data in every part of the country,” Argungu said, encouraging groups like the APC Professional Women Council to play an active role in mobilizing members for the upcoming e-registration.

Soyombo, in response, called for increased female participation in the forthcoming governorship elections in Edo and Ondo states, urging the party to include women in key committees to enhance their involvement and support at the grassroots level. (NAN)
