Nollywood actress Debbie Shokoya has responded to criticisms and comparisons following music star Davido’s wedding.
On Tuesday, June 25th, Davido made headlines across Nigeria and the internet as he married the love of his life, Chioma. Following their wedding, many criticized the couple, particularly Chioma, whose traditional attire was deemed unsatisfactory by some who believed celebrity stylist Veekee James could have done better.
In response, Shokoya noted that the couple has moved on to their next agenda, an expensive honeymoon, while others remain preoccupied with comparisons and complaints.
Shokoya prayed against poverty and declared that social media and data would not be her life’s achievements to give foolish opinions.
“Rich people have their weddings and move on to the next agenda (expensive honeymoon).
Meanwhile, poor people are busy comparing and complaining.
Oh Lord, I shall never be poor and jobless in my life. Social media and data will not be my only achievements in life to give foolish opinions.
Social media opinions be damned.”
