Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, has arrived at the funeral of the late Nollywood veteran actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, in Enugu State.
Obi posted on X with pictures:
“I was in Amuri, Nkanu West LGA of Enugu State today to pay my last respects to the talented Nollywood actor John Okafor a.k.a (Mr. Ibu) I joined the Okafor family, the Nollywood Entertainment family and other mourners to bid farewell to the Late Veteran Nollywood Actor”.
An X user also shared a video with the caption: “Mr. Peter Obi arrives at Amuri, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State to pay his last respects to the late Nollywood actor, Chief John Okafor (Mr. Ibu).”

In October 2023, reports emerged that Mr. Ibu was ill and needed financial assistance.
However, in November 2023, his family confirmed that one of his legs had been amputated to save his life.
The beloved comic actor passed away on Saturday, March 2.
