A minister in Gospel Power Ministry, GPM, Pastor Ben Charles-Davies has appealed to President Bola Tinubu’s administration to ease the pains of Nigerians.

He stressed that governments at all levels must come up with life-changing policies and programmes to lift people out of hunger, hardship and starvation.

Charles-Davies stated this during the launching of his book titled: ‘The Wounded Soul’ held at GPM auditorium Ogba, Lagos.

He said it was not an exaggeration that the masses were hungry, adding that the look on the faces of Nigerians suggested that they were bruised and bleeding and in serious need of help.

The minister lamented that most families in Nigeria battle to feed once a day, while some who managed to eat were not sure of where the next meal would come from, stating that it had become a matter of urgency that government at all levels hasten up, rule with the fear of God and come up with policies to check rising prices of food commodities and other essentials.

In his words: “There is hunger, anger in the land, Nigerians have been wounded in all areas. No food to eat, it has never happen to us in this manner before. Politically Nigerians are wounded on daily bases.

“Nigerians are too resilient, they are dogged, they can endure just like Fela said ‘suffering and smiling’ but the present situation is beyond suffering and smiling, the masses are being pushed to the wall, staple foods are not available any longer.

“There is serious hunger and starvation in the land. Nigerians are being wounded and are bleeding internally, they are helpless but we pray that God will deliver us,” he said.

However, he urged Nigerians to keep hope alive, be patient and ultimately look up to God for divine intervention for a new Nigeria.

“We have no other country than Nigeria, we have to be patient and look up to God because it is not man that will solve these problems. Until the true Nigerians emerge, I am not sure if it is this government that will take the country to Eldorado.

“We are still expecting God to give us the new Nigeria of our dream. We can no longer look to man but God to give us Nigeria of our dream with dedicated, committed men and women who are ready to serve Nigeria and Nigerians. Not the one’s serving only their families,” he said.

In her welcome address and comment on ‘The Wounded Soul’, wife of the General Overseer of Gospel Power Ministry, Dr. Dorka Bekee said: “At one time or another, every one of us has felt the agony of a wounded soul. As a medical practitioner and pastor of many years, I have seen many people who have been wounded physically, emotionally, and mentally.

“I am pleased that Mr, Ben Charles-Davies, a man I know to be passionate about social justice, has written this book on this critical and cost-cutting issue that affects all people, irrespective of their skin, race or colour.

“This book, ‘The Wounded Soul’ is thus very timely and useful for contemporary times, with so many pressure and challenges being faced in our world today. The book is a compendium of information of soul-wound that can result from marital, marital life, relationships, minister, business, including politics. The book brings to the reader’s awareness the origin of soul-wound, the social, physical and spiritual impacts, as well as proffers measures that can address different types of soul wounds”.

Some of the dignitaries at the book launch are; General Overseer of Gospel Power Ministry, GPM, Rev. Friday Bekee, Mr. Barineka Thompson, Pastor Fowe, Pastor Patricia Njoku and others.
