Lagos Police nab deadly robber with gun in Agege

The Lagos State Police Command on Saturday arrested a suspected deadly armed robber at the Agege area of the State.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a tweet on X gave the name of the suspected robber as Toibu Hassan, aged 25.

He said he was arrested by the Elere Police Division around 6.00am under the Agege Pen-Cinema Bridge.

Hundeyin said the suspected robber was caught with one locally-made pistol and one expended cartridge, saying investigation was ongoing.

“Today, at 6am, under the Agege Pen-Cinema bridge, Toibu Hassan, aged 25, was arrested by officers from Elere Division with one locally made pistol and one expended cartridge. Investigation is ongoing,” he tweeted.

Meanwhile, Hundeyin said worried by complaints of harassment and petty robberies along the rail lines in Agege, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Adegoke Fayoade, embarked on a fact-finding visit to the area.

“He has since ordered a rejig of the security architecture in the area, charging DPOs within the vicinity to ensure optimal provision of security,” Hundeyin stated.
