A dominant Spain thrashed Georgia 4-1 to qualify for the quarter-finals of the ongoing Euro 2024 in Germany on Sunday.

Spain will play Germany in the quarter-finals on Friday.

Georgia had taken the lead in the 18th minute from an own goal. The unfortunate own goal was conceded by Robin Le Normand, who attempted to block the ball after a cross, sent the ball into the right post of his own goal.

Spain equalised in the 39th minute. Nico Williams found Rodri with a clever pass. He stepped inside his man on the edge of the box and whipped a tremendous shot into the bottom right corner to make it 1-1.

Spain double their lead few minutes after the restart. Lamine Yamal played a neat lofted pass into the box for Fabian Ruiz, who beat the defender in the air and planted a header into the bottom left corner from close range to make it 2-1.

An own goal in the 75th minute appeared to have given Spain a 3-1 lead after Giorgi Gvelesiani scored into his own net, but it was ruled out for offside.

But Nico Williams was not to be denied some seconds later to give Spain a 3-1 lead. He finished his beautiful individual effort with a superb strike from inside the box.

In the 83rd minute, a great play by Mikel Oyarzabal released Dani Olmo in space on the edge of the box. He spotted the keeper off his line and coolly put the ball into bottom left corner to make it 4-1 for Spain.
