Earlier, Simi while opening up about her struggles with imposter syndrome, said the album is about her reclaiming her “chemistry with music, melody and love stories.”

The mother of one said she had always enjoyed the privilege of knowing herself “deeply,” but in recent years, she had endured the “discomfort of losing” herself.

She explained that she “felt like a stranger to herself.”

The singer said making her album ‘Lost And Found’ helped her rediscover herself.

On her X handle on Tuesday, Simi wrote: “For most of my life, I have enjoyed the privilege of knowing myself deeply, unwaveringly, truly. In more recent years, I have also endured the discomfort of losing myself. Sometimes, to make room for something else that I needed to be – other times, because I could not, for the life of me, find my way. I felt like a stranger to myself. This version of me has been the hardest one to look at in the mirror.

“Making this album is a symbol of finding parts of myself again that I hoped I hadn’t lost permanently. I don’t believe that we ever stop finding ourselves. If you’re willing to look, there’s always more. This is a tribute to the things we continue to find and rediscover.”

‘Lost and Found’ is the singer’s fifth studio album. ‘Ogaju,’ her debut studio album, was released in 2008.

She then followed it up with ‘Simisola’ (2017), ‘Omo Charlie Champagne’ (2019), ‘To Be Honest’ (2021).

These are her second, third, and fourth projects respectively.

Simi started her career as a gospel singer.

She gained prominence in 2014 after putting out ‘Tiff’, a song nominated for The Headies 2015.

She signed a record deal with X3M Music in 2014 but left the label in 2019 following the expiration of her contract.

The singer then launched her own record label Studio Brat.

Simi is married to Adekunle Gold, who also happens to be a singer. The union is blessed with a child.
