Spain hit Euro 2024 final after moving past France in explosive match

Spain have qualified for the final of Euro 2024 in Germany after defeating France 2-1 on Tuesday.

France opened the scoring nine minutes into the match. Randal Kolo Muani scored the goal after burying a close-range header in the right side of the goal after a good run and cross by Kylian Mbappe.

In the 19th minute, Mbappe made space for himself in the box after some nice work, but his shot was immediately charged down by a defender.

Two minutes later, Spain equalised through their wonderkid, Lamine Yamal.

The 16-year-old Yamal unleashed a powerful shot from long distance. His precise attempt glanced off the post into the top left corner and left the goalkeeper beaten.

Spain scored their second goal in the 25th minute. Dani Olmo displayed superb quick feet and dribbling as he jinked his way through multiple challenges and took a shot from inside the box, which was deflected and went past stranded Mike Maignan.

In the 60th minute, Ousmane Dembele played a pass into the box, but Unai Simon reacted well to snuff out the attack.

Four minutes later, Dayot Upamecano reacted well and displayed good awareness inside the box to get on the end of the resulting corner kick. He failed to direct the ball into the net as it flew narrowly wide of the right post.

In the 81st minute, Yamal jinked his way past two defenders and from the edge of the box had an effort which went just over the bar.

In the 86th minute, Mbappe burst into the box and only had the keeper to beat, but sent a poor shot well over the crossbar.
