Edo 2024: Federal might can’t stop victory of Ighodalo, says PDP chieftain
By Jethro Ibileke
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Edo State, Princess Benedicta Attoh, has said that no federal might will be able to stop the victory of Asue Ighodalo in the 21 September governorship election in Edo.
Attoh who is the Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Council, stated this on Tuesday at the inauguration of the Ward Coordinators for the Asue/Ogie Support Group (Edo Voice Movement), in Edo North.
She said: “We may not have money, but we have the people. We are unconcerned about Federal might because the federal government does not vote.
“This election is all about the people’s might. Let no one doubt, I can assure you that Asue Ighodalo will be the next Governor.
“The Strength of a fish is the strength of the River. I am speaking confidently because I am standing on your shoulders as my foot soldiers, the giant in the field to make us realise our goals.”
She tasked members and newly inaugurated Ward Coordinators to work as a team, stating that they will achieve more when they work together as a team, rather than working independently.
The Council Chairman who described Asue Ighodalo as the epitome of humility, urged anyone who wants good governance and the development of Edo State should support him.
According to her, Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie are chosen vessels to help the common man and Edo State, added that the two were not accidental candidates or mistakes, but rather God-chosen.
“If the opposition had nothing to fear, they would not have been spreading rumours. Be fortified by their noise and do not be discouraged. Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie are God’s Project” She said.
The Edo North Coordinator of the Edo Voice Movement (EVM), Pastor Peter Igbogo, in his remarks, thanked the Etsako East Chairman for her sacrifices for the group.
He disclosed that the group which focuses on culture and religion, has been visiting various cultural groups and religious organisations such as churches and mosques to drum support for the PDP candidate.
