Injured Trump rushed out of Pennsylvania rally as he is feared shot
Former U.S. President Donald Trump was rushed off stage after loud bangs were heard and he fell to the ground at the start of a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Saturday night.
The Secret Service says Trump is safe and under protective measures.
The CNN reports that it was not immediately clear what occurred, but that Trump was swarmed by agents on stage after the bangs were heard.
Blood could be seen on Trump’s face, and he raised a fist to the crowd as he was rushed away.
The CNN reports that the former president was yelling back to the crowd and raising his fist before being whisked away by security personnel.
The former president was then taken to a vehicle and evacuated from the scene. The incident took place moments after he took the stage at the rally.
Pool reporters at the rally Trump was rushed offstage reported that they heard ‘“a series of loud explosions or loud bangs” before Secret Service agents rushed toward Trump
“The Secret Service went and immediately covered former President Trump,” according to the pool report. “Pool heard residual bangs afterward.”
“Agents grabbed the former president, who was seen waving his fists in the air,” the pool report added.
