Thomas Crooks, the shooter who attempted to kill Trump: What we know about him

Thomas Matthew Crooks has been named by the FBI as the 20-year-old shooter who wanted to kill former U.S. President, Donald Trump on Saturday.

Trump was shot and injured at his rally in Pennsylvania after Crooks fired several shots from outside at him and others at the rally. He was later shot dead by the Secret Service officials.

This is what we know about Crooks

1. Crooks who attacked Trump was a 20-year-old man. He was shot dead after the attack.

2. He was a resident of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania

3. He shot at Trump from about 35 miles south of Butler

4. Crooks graduated from Bethel Park High School in 2022, according to a local media report and a video of the school’s commencement.

5. He was registered to vote as a Republican, according to a listing in Pennsylvania’s voter database that matched his name, age, and a Bethel Park address that law enforcement was searching Saturday night.

6. This year’s presidential election would have been the first he was old enough to vote in.

7. Federal Election Commission records show that a donor listed as Thomas Crooks with the same address gave $15 to a Democratic-aligned political action committee called the Progressive Turnout Project in January 2021.
