Renowned Nigerian actress Ayo Adesanya has shared her thoughts on portraying wicked roles in movies.
In an interview with Saturday Beats, she confessed that watching herself play wicked characters sometimes makes her question her own nature.
“Acting in various roles exposes you to different lifestyles,” she explained.
Sometimes, when I watch myself acting wickedly in a movie, I marvel at how well and easily I play those roles that I begin asking myself if I am that wicked. It actually makes me feel bad. I know I am wearing someone’s character, but I still wonder why a character could be so heartless.”
Regarding her new YouTube series, ‘Madam Movable’, Adesanya noted the challenge of learning to ride a bike for the role.
“Having acted a lot of characters, I decided to do something different that would help me push boundaries. There are lots of delivery men, but I have never encountered a delivery woman. Also, I have not really explored my comedy side the way I would love to, so I decided to do so in this series. However, it is not the usual style of comedy, but a ‘calm’ one. Learning to ride a bike was not easy and I had to train for a week before I could get it right. After that experience, I started to give kudos to okada riders.”
