Police, CAN collaborate to sustain peace in Kano

Police, CAN renew collaboration towards sustaining the existing peace and harmony among religious bodies in Kano state.

Kano state Police Command and the state chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), have renewed collaboration towards sustaining the existing peace and harmony among religious bodies in the state.

The state Chairman of CAN, Bishop John Nazama Niyiring, who led members of his executive on a courtesy visit to the new Commissioner of Police, Mr. Salman Dogo Garba, assured police in the state of CAN’s continued support, prayers and collaboration to achieve lasting peace and order in the state.

He said: “I want to start by welcoming you to Kano and thank you for granting us audience. This meeting is very important because of the commendable work the Police are doing in ensuring peace in the State.

” The Police are always present in our churches to ensure people perform their prayers peacefully. We are the religious leaders towards the promotion of peace and we assure you of our maximum cooperation and prayers for you to succeed. Thank you and may God be with you.”

In his response, the Commissioner of Police stated that: “I welcome you to the Police Headquarters in Bompai Kano. The relationship and partnership between the CAN and the Police Command has been cordial.

” Therefore, I implore you to do more by preaching to your people on the importance of keeping the peace, especially at this critical moment. Finally, I assure you that the Police will always be with you and I look forward to your prayers. Thank you.”

Police and CAN concluded the meeting with a commitment to work together towards maintaining law and order in the state.
