A 17 year girl (names withheld) and her sponsor are in the custody of the Department of State Service (DSS) in Kano, for abducting and trafficking four-year old Aisha from Nguru in Yobe state to Kano.
The the 17-yead old abductor was arrested by the DSS in collaboration with Kano state Hisbah Board.
Little Aisha was rescued and kept safe in DSS care.
Impeccable source in the Kano office of the DSS, hinted that the State Hisbah officials handed over Aisha who was kidnapped from Nguru and brought to Kano, after they suspected that there was no connection between the stolen baby and her abductor.
The Secret Police further explained that, after receiving the stolen child and her abductor, they traced the man behind trafficking of stolen children from Yobe to other parts of the country.
“We arrested the real kingpin in the abduction of the children from around neighboring states to Kano and other southern part where they completely the children usually vanished completely.”
The DSS source said during interrogation, the 17-year old girl confirmed that her sponsor whom she met while selling groundnut in the neighborhood introduced her to child abduction and trafficking.
The sponsor (identity withheld) had promised the young abductor that, “nothing will happen to to her in the illicit business.”
The ring leader confessed to DSS that Aisha’s abduction was the third in the series of their crime.
He said they operate under a cartel of stealing children from across the States.
