President Bola Tinubu is in closed door meeting with governors of elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja, Nigeria over planned nationwide protest.

Nigerian youths are planning massive protest on 1 August over hardship in the land.

The chairman of the PGF and the Imo state governor, Hope Uzodimma, led the team of governors to the President’s office, along with the chairman of Nigeria’s Governors Forum, Governor Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman of Kwara State.

Also sighted was the reinstated deputy governor of Edo State, Philip Shuaibu; Bassey Otu, (Cross River); Benue State Governor, Fr Hyacinth Alia; Uba Sani of Kaduna State; Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi, amongs others.

The agenda of the meeting, holding in the president’s office, is unknown but it may not be unconnected to the planned protests scheduled to take place across Nigeria next week

The protests, organized under the hashtag ‘EndBadGovernance,’ have gained significant traction on social media.

Scheduled to take place across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, the organizers remain largely anonymous, with no group officially claiming responsibility.

This meeting, according to the Punch follows the gathering of the governors on Wednesday night and comes after a last-minute cancellation of the National Economic Council meeting.
