By Motolani Alake
On the evening of July 27th, 2024, the Relentless Church Auditorium in Warrington, United Kingdom, was filled with the resonant sounds of gospel music as Juliana Ehada brought her audience together for an unforgettable worship experience.
Originally planned as an intimate studio session for 15 people, the event’s overwhelming interest necessitated a move to a larger venue, ultimately hosting over 50 attendees and selling out on Eventbrite.
Curated by Juliana herself, the event was aptly named “A Time of Worship with Juliana Ehada” and succeeded in bringing together a diverse audience. The crowd was a vibrant mix of races and backgrounds, unified by a shared love for gospel music and a desire to experience the presence of God through song. This inclusivity was a highlight of the evening, showcasing the power of music to bridge cultural divides and foster community spirit.
Juliana Ehada’s performance was nothing short of captivating. The setlist featured songs from her latest album, with each track delivering a unique message of gratitude, sovereignty, and divine love. One standout song was “Ainya,” which translates to “Thank You.” This track particularly resonated with the audience, who expressed feelings of thankfulness and a profound emotional connection. The simplicity and heartfelt delivery of “Ainya” left many attendees in a reflective and appreciative state.
Another crowd favorite was “You Reign,” an upbeat and danceable song that had the entire auditorium on their feet. Ehada’s energetic performance, coupled with the infectious rhythm of the song, encouraged even the most reserved attendees to dance. It was a delightful sight to see the British attendees embracing Nigerian dance steps, demonstrating a joyous exchange of cultural traditions. The ease with which the audience picked up and sang the Nigerian indigenous language after a few repetitions of the chorus was a testament to the unifying power of music.
The event was not just a musical performance but a celebration of community and unity. As Warrington continues to welcome a growing black community, events like these play a crucial role in promoting cultural understanding and togetherness. Juliana’s ability to create an inclusive atmosphere where everyone felt welcome and engaged was commendable.
Juliana Ehada expressed her hope to organize more such events in the future, potentially with other concert Curators and musical artists to expand the experience. Plans are already in motion for a follow-up event in 2025, with ambitions to make it a significant cultural highlight in the Northwest.
In conclusion, “A Time of Worship with Juliana Ehada” was more than a concert; it was an embodiment of harmony, joy, and cultural appreciation. Ehada’s talent and vision brought people together, making it an event that will be remembered and cherished by all who attended. It stands as a beacon of what can be achieved when music is used as a tool for unity and celebration.
