Senator Ned Nwoko (PDP-Delta), representing Delta North Senatorial District, has described the death of Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah as a devastating blow to Nigeria’s democracy.
This is contained in a tribute by Nwoko, Chairman, Senate Committee on Reparations and Repatriation, on Sunday, in Abuja, following the passing of Ubah.
Ubah until his death in London, as confirmed by Yemi Adaramodu, Chairman, Senate Committee on Public Affairs represented Anambra South Senatorial District in the red chamber.
In a heartfelt tribute, Nwoko mourned the loss of his colleague, emphasising both the personal and professional void created by Ubah’s passing.
“Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah was more than a fellow legislator; he was a brother and a friend.
“His death is a profound shock and a tremendous loss, felt deeply by both the Senate and the entire nation. Senator Ubah’s contributions and leadership were critical to the health and progress of Nigerian democracy.
“His demise is a devastating blow to Nigerian democracy,” he said.
The lawmaker also reflected on Ubah’s unwavering commitment to public service, noting his role as an exemplary leader and a devoted advocate for his constituents.
“Sen. Ubah was a remarkable leader and a dedicated public servant. He was an intentional lawmaker, tirelessly championing economic empowerment and supporting legislative reforms.
“He stood out as a dependable source of hope for his constituents. This loss is deeply felt by all of us.
“The family and the Anambra Government are in our thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.
“His legacy of service and dedication will be remembered with great respect”, Nwoko added.
