Some social media users have defended gospel singer Moses Bliss after a Twitter user criticized him for charging N7 million for a performance.
The Twitter user, known as Joshua, claimed that the singer’s fee for a ministration was N7 million. Expressing disappointment, Joshua suggested that event organizers should instead invite Olamide, implying that such a choice would draw a larger crowd.
“I was told you need N7 million to invite Moses Bliss for ministration; they should just invite Olamide instead. Let him come sing ‘baba mo ro wo re ninu aye mi…’ The church would be overflowing,” Joshua stated.
This statement stirred backlash from many who defended Moses Bliss, arguing that he has financial obligations like everyone else.
One user, Danny, commented, “There’s nothing wrong with his charge. He’s singing just like every other singer.”
Another user, Wise Baba, added, “7 million is too small, to be honest. Should only secular artists get paid well?”
Tseju Hair1 chimed in, “Are you going to feed his wife and pay his kids’ school fees?”
Weight Loss and More noted, “The gift of a man makes way for him. If you don’t want to spend much, hire your local church chorister.”
Teeto Olayeni questioned, “Secular artistes can charge, but gospel artistes can’t?”
Perpetual Hair Extensions2 sarcastically commented, “Okay, he’s supposed to perform for free because he’s a gospel artist? Did you start a GoFundMe for his expenses? You all are jokers.”
Vendors Home stated, “7 million is small. Even Portable charges more.”
Blessing Ruby14 stated, “Should he suffer because he serves God?”
Cjay Sapna added, “He is using the gift God has given him to survive, just like everyone else.”
Veve Isabella pointed out, “If he comes online to beg for money, you all would still criticize him.”
Urennah_ questioned, “So he should sing for free? How will he feed and support his family?”
Ojulewa Studio concluded, “Please increase it. N7 million is small. Doesn’t the brand have a family or equipment? But you want quality sound.”
