The Kano State Students’ Council has dissociated itself from the planned protest or any form of anti government demonstration because, in its words, President Bola Tinubu is tackling challenges bedeviling the country.

According to the Council, the protest is being championed by faceless people who are enemies of democracy and Nigeria.

“The genesis or cause is not the economic hardship, but because they lost the election and don’t want to accept it in good faith. They want to cause violence and chaos,” the Chairman of the council, Yahaya Kabo said at a news conference on Sunday in Kano while calling on students to shun the protest.

Kabo also urged the organisers of the protest to exercise caution and embrace dialogue.

He commended President Bola Tinubu over the Students Loan and National Youth Investment Programmes, which are part of the government’s efforts to support students.

“It has come to our notice that some bad eggs from opposition parties are calling Kano State Students to come out and protest.

“I Comrade Yahaya Usman Kabo, as the Chairman of Kano State Students’ Council, call on the entire Kano State Students to stay away from any form of protest.

“This protest is organised by unknown people who are enemies of democracy and the country called Nigeria.
