Nigerian singer Victony has said he is not under pressure to reach the same level of fame as his peers, Rema and Asake.

Responding to claims from some social media users that his debut album “Stubborn” wasn’t “commercially successful” due to the lack of negative comments or “haters” to boost its visibility online, Victony dismissed the notion as “dumb.”

He stressed that the expectations for the album were unrealistic given his current position in the music industry.

Victony addressed this on his X handle, stating:

“Lmao, Victony need more haters gotta be the dumbest sh*t I seen cos what’s the rush? Everyone wanna be Rema and Asake in 2 hours?”
