The Managing Director of Update Afrika  Communications, Dr. Joseph Effiong has appealed to Nigerian youth to reconsider their stance on the protest billed  for August 1, cautioning that it is too early to condemn present administration.
He urged the public to exercise more patience and  enable government concentrate and attend to basic challenges in the country.
In an open letter to the youth,  Effiong contended that the goal of protest had always been met with defeat,  citing the failures and loss to the # ENDSARS protest.
The youth advocate admitted there were suffering and hardship in the country. He,however,  believed that they were trials preceding breakthrough.
He said that protesting this period is akin to putting a cart before the horse.  He called  on the youth to rather  show support to national and state programmes and hope for positive outcomes.
He said, “Running a country is an arduous task, and effecting substantial change takes time. It is only fair that we grant President Tinubu the opportunity to implement his policies and fulfill his promises to the Nigerian people. Change, especially transformative change, cannot happen overnight. Rome was not built in a day, and neither will the deep-rooted issues plaguing our nation be resolved instantly “.
He emphasised unity  this period, submitting that the country’s strength and national stability depend on it.
“Instead of resorting to  premature protest, let us keep our faith in the democratic process that  gives us a platform to express our concerns through dialogue and engagement with the government.
“The President deserves that  time and space to study, evaluate, and implement strategic policies. Let’s be hopeful of the best in the long run”, he said.
