"I became an artiste by accident " - Young Jonn

In a recent interview with Revolt, Nigerian singer Young Jonn revealed that his journey to becoming an artiste was unplanned.

 

The former producer explained that he never intended to pursue a career as a performer, but circumstances led him in that direction.

“I never really planned to be an artiste, but life played out,” he shared.

Discussing his shift from production to performing, Young Jonn described it as a huge learning experience. “It’s a whole different ball game. It’s a whole different hustle, grind, and business. It took me time, but I think I’m getting hold of it,” he said.

Young Jonn also mentioned that while he was finding his way as an artist, he drew inspiration from Olamide, Kizz Daniel, and Lil Kesh.

Early in his career, he collaborated with Olamide’s YBNL Nation, producing numerous tracks for Lil Kesh, Olamide, and other artistes on the label.
