The Grand Caliph of Faedat Tijaniyyah of Yoruba land, Edo and Delta States, HE Sheikh Muh’d Salis Alao Adenekan has advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take decisive action to address the scourge of hunger and insecurity in Nigeria, which, according to him, are threatening the very fabric of the country.
Sheikh Muh’d spoke while delivering his address at the inauguration of the National executive Council of Faedat Tijaniyyah in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital recently.
He noted that Muslim faithful in the country will supports every policy and initiatives of government that addresses poverty, promote healthcare and economic development, he therefore advised that the President should continue in that part.
He also advised the President to work with leaders of religious groups like the Faedat Tijaniyyah to build a better Nigeria, as he noted that religious leaders are not just spiritual leaders, but also stakeholders in the development of the country.
Sheikh Muh’d also commended the recent judgement of Supreme Court on Local government autonomy.
He, however, enjoined National executive of Faedat Tijaniyyah to strive for more prosperous and equitable nation by not abandoning pressing issues confronting the country to the leaders alone.
In addition, he urged the executives to work tirelessly to promote peace, unity, education and economic empowerment.
He also urged them to be sources of hope and inspiration to everyone around them.
“I charged you with sacred responsibility of elevating the Faedat Tijaniyyah to new levels of excellence and recognition, to work tirelessly to promote peace, unity, education and economic empowerment, to be source of hope and inspiration to all and to let your leadership be guided by passionate commitment, innovative thinking and collaborative spirit.
Strive for more prosperous and equitable nation, do not ignore the pressing issues that confront our dear nation.”
“I urge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take decisive action to address the scourge of hunger and insecurity that threatens the very fabric of our society,” he said.
Speaking with newsmen at the event, the SSA to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Dr Iskeel Muh. Awwal (Sugar) advised Nigerians to be patient as President Tinubu meant well for the nation.
He noted that protesting will not solve any problem now because it is not the present administration that spoils the country.
Also in his inaugural speech, the National Director of Strategy Planning and Coordinating of the Muslim group, Sheikh Abd Mustapha promised to ensure unity among the members and to carry all executive members along in taking any decision for the organization.
He also enjoined the members to be more steadfast in their faith and continue to believe in Allah.
