The Lagos State Police Command has uncovered large cache of ammunition at 1 Moshalashi Street, Mushin, Lagos and arrested a male and female in connection with the arms.

Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson of the Command in a statement on X thanked Lagosian for the timely information which led to the arrest and recovering of ammunition.

Hundeyin said this morning at about 1.00am, responding to a distress call about the presence of armed men on Agoro Street, Mushin, its tactical team based in Surulere swiftly moved in and arrested Sherrif Mustapha, 42 and Suturat Lateef, 28 while one other escaped.

He said the suspects led the police to 1, Moshalashi Street, Mushin where large cache of ammunition were recovered.

Hundeyin listed ammunition recovered by the police to include two (2) AK 47 rifles, one (1) K2 Assault rifle, one (1) Red Rufer rifle, three (3) pump action rifles, two (2) and locally made single barrel pistols.

Others are five magazines, 57 live cartridges, 70 5.56 live ammunition, 27 9mm ammunition, ⁠one expended 5.56 ammunition, one dagger, three walkie talkies and nine international passports.

“Investigation is ongoing! If you see something, say something. Security is everyone’s business! Together, we can overcome insecurity,” Hundeyin said.
