Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa, the NYSC Coordinator in Lagos State, has revealed that the Corps has issued a circular regarding new requirements for HND candidates.

Baderinwa in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Lagos, stated,

“It has been observed recently that some polytechnic and monotechnic graduates are not completing the mandatory one-year Industrial Training (IT) before enrolling in HND programs. The one-year IT is essential for HND eligibility.”

She emphasized that graduates must complete the one-year IT and provide evidence of the completion before advancing to the HND program.

Institutions are required to verify this completion before admitting students into the HND program.

“The directive will be enforced from the next orientation camp, and we will not register any candidates who have not completed or undergone the required IT process,” Baderinwa announced.

She added that this measure is intended to uphold the integrity of Nigeria’s education system.

The coordinator also mentioned that prospective corps members who are HND graduates will need to present evidence of IT completion before registration at any NYSC orientation camp.
