The United States of America (USA) stormed to the gold medal on Friday in the Women’s 4 x 100m relay final in Paris Olympics.

The quartet of Melissa Jefferson, Sha’Carri Richardson, Twanisha Terry and Gabrielle Thomas won the gold medal in a time of 41.78 seconds in a Season Best time.

Great Britain won the silver in a time of 41.85 seconds while Germany won the bronze medal in a time of 41.97 seconds in a Season Best time.

France came fourth in a time of 42.23 seconds while Jamaica came fifth in a time of 42.29 seconds.

Canada was in sixth position in a time of 42.69 seconds and Netherlands, seventh in a time of 22.74 seconds while Switzerland quartet were disqualified.

The USA women have won the gold medal in Women’s 4 x 100m in several Olympics.
