Walson-Jack, new Federal Head of Service

President Bola Tinubu on Monday swore in  Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack as the new Head of Civil Service of the Federation.

Walson-Jack who replaced Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan as the HOCSF,  took the oath of office at about 1:00 pm at the Council Chamber of the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja. Yemi-Esan  who was appointed as HOCSF on March 4, 2020, retired on August 12, 2024 upon turning 60.

The event was followed by the Federal Executive Council meeting.

At  her swearing-in, Tinubu told  Walson-Jack:  “You’re stepping into very big shoes, and we pray that God continues to guide you, provide you with wisdom and enhance your integrity to serve this country and the civil service in the most successful way.”

Walson-Jack who was born on August 27, 1996, is a lawyer. She studied Law at the University of Lagos. She was called to the bar in 1987 upon graduating from the Nigerian Law School. She also attended the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Plateau State.

The new HOCSF had worked at the  Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs . She was appointed the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education  January 2024, a position she held until her current appointment.
