Ahead of the 21 September governorship election in Edo State, the Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP), has thrown its weight behind the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Asue Ighodalo and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie.
The CRPP in a statement by its chairman and secretary, Dr. Samson Isibor and Andrew Ogbebor respectively, described the PDP candidate as being more credible to lead Edo people.
They said the decision to rally support and campaign for the PDP candidate was based on his antecedent and pedigree.
The statement reads in part, “The Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP), came to the conclusion after extensive consultations with the grassroot members of our group in the 18 local government areas of Edo State.
“We assess the antecedent and pedigree of each contesting candidate, we found the PDP candidates more credible to lead Edo people to the promised land.”
The statement described Ighodalo as a master planner, a first class administrator whom the CRPP believes will deliver the expected dividend of democracy to the masses of the state.
CRPP therefore called on all its members in the 18 local government areas of the state to work assiduously to vote for the PDP governorship candidates.
