Journalist and non-commercial Gospel singer, Paul Dada, has released a four-track EP, titled “Ordinary Man”.

Dada who says he does not do gospel music for money as he earns a living through journalism practice, emphasises that he only teaches Bible doctrines and truths using music.

He says: ” I have always said I am different from other Nigerian gospel singers. My focus and style are different. I am not looking to ‘blow’ as they say in the Nigerian parlance. Journalism is my profession. Music is a ministry for me. I happen to be a preacher/ teacher who also sings.

“So, the subjects covered in my songs are the kind of things I teach in church meetings. Anyone who follows my music would know I sing about the sublime and core issues of the Christian faith. I don’t do superficial praise and worship songs you hear everywhere. I don’t focus on the mundane things that many so-called gospel singers are known for”.

Paul Dada’s “Ordinary Man” contains songs that address some fundamentals of the Christian faith.

The first track is titled: “The Fool” and it is a blunt warning to a pleasure loving sinner to realise the consequences of their godless hedonism. It is a poignant call for them to repent.

The second track, “The Struggle” is a veritable highlight of the imperfections, shortcomings and weaknesses that might exist in a genuine believer and their need for God’s strengthening grace to be triumphant.

“The Ordinary Man’s Confession” being the third track, is a song that teaches that having Christ in one’s life trumps all earthly attainments and endowments.

The fourth track, “Kilode?” is an observation of the pervasive rot in the Nigerian church system and a call to repentance.
