He stated: “Rema is on another level, he’s a Gen Z superstar. He’s our major face of African music. They [Western world] regard Rema the same way they regard American artists. “But the problem about Rema at the moment is overpricing. I think he overpriced himself. He needs to do more shows to build a huge fanbase to earn his price tag.”

Music executive Paulo Okoye has suggested that afro beats artiste Rema is currently pricing himself too high.

In a conversation with media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, known as Daddy Freeze, Paulo stated that Rema needs to increase his number of performances and expand his fanbase to justify his current price tag.

Paulo also noted a reduction in earnings for both Rema and his peer, Asake.

Previously, the artistes earned up to $4 million and $5 million, respectively, but this has decreased to $2 million (N3.2 billion) and $3 million (N4.8 billion) for the years 2023 and 2024.

It’s worth mentioning that Rema recently drew attention by performing at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding on July 12 at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai.

Reports indicate that he was paid $3 million to perform his hit song ‘Calm Down’ at the event.
