Popular American singer and actress Jennifer Lopez, known to fans worldwide as J.Lo, has officially filed for divorce from her husband, actor Ben Affleck.
The filing took place on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the Los Angeles County Superior Court, bringing an end to their two-year marriage.
The couple, who have been romantically linked since the early 2000s, rekindled their relationship in 2021 and tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Las Vegas in July 2022.
Despite their history and high-profile union, reports indicate that the pair have been living separately since April 26, 2024.
Lopez, 55, and Affleck, 52, first crossed paths in 2001 while working together on the set of the film Gigli.
Their on-screen collaboration quickly evolved into an off-screen romance, which garnered intense media scrutiny.
Although their initial engagement in 2002 ended without a wedding, the couple remained close friends over the years before rekindling their romance nearly two decades later.
This marks Lopez’s fourth marriage; she was previously married to singer Marc Anthony, with whom she shares two children, from 2004 to 2014. Affleck, who shares three children with his ex-wife, actress Jennifer Garner, was married to Garner from 2005 until their divorce was finalized in 2018.
