The Ogun House of Assembly on Wednesday held a special session in honour of the late Adetokunbo Oshin, a former Deputy Speaker and member in the Assembly’s fifth and sixth sessions.
Speaking during the valedictory session for the departed during plenary in Abeokuta, the Speaker, Oludaisi Elemide, described Oshin as a man of honour and integrity.
“The late former deputy speaker will be remembered for his legislative prowess,” he said.
The speaker explained that the late Oshin lived a fulfilled life, describing him as a leader of repute and the state had lost a real gem in his death.
Other lawmakers who spoke during the special plenary for the late former lawmaker described him as a fearless, dogged and committed human being who served the state meritoriously.
They added that the current set of state legislators had lost a leader, a political tactician and one of the greatest the hallowed chamber ever produced.
Mr Fasiu Bakene, a member of the Fifth and Sixth Assembly, stated that the late Oshin was a committed legislator during his time and a man of tradition.
“He believed in the House of Assembly doing things rightly and always put the government of the day on its toes,” he said.
The wife of the deceased, Mrs Bolanle Oshin, appreciated the House of Assembly for honouring her late husband.
