EFCC grabs 14 for internet fraud in Makurdi

Fourteen suspected internet fraudsters have been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC in Makurdi Benue State.
The alleged internet fraudsters were arrested by operatives of the Zonal Directorate on Wednesday August 21, 2024 in a sting operation along Federal Lowcost Housing Estate are of Makurdi, Dele Oyewale, spokesperson for the anti-graft agency said in a statement on Firday.
The EFCC statement identified the suspect as: Austine Okwori, Osita Idoko Valentine, Skott King David, Thomas Ifebuche, Akor Kelvin Oche, Henry Adah, Scott Emmanuel Inalegwu, Ogbu Stephen Alpha and Samuel Moses, Ogbonna Ckukwuaogwu.
Others include: Mustapha Nasir Adinoye, SylvanusSamuel Ogbu, Emmanuel Adamu and Samuel Otene.
According to the statement, the 14 suspects were arrested followed actionable intelligence about their suspected involvement in internet fraud.
Items recovered from the suspects include, phones,laptops and charms
The anti-graft agency said the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
