Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, the Dictator General of National Intelligence Agency, NIA, on Saturday tendered his resignation letter to President Bola Tinubu.
It is not yet clear why the NIA boss resigned. The presidency has alao not issued any statement on the resignation of Rifai.
Rufai was appointed the DG of NIA in January 2018 by former President Muhammadu Buhari.
He was only security chief inherited by Tinubu from Buhari still holding office before his resignation on Saturday evening.
Rufai, a career foreign service officer served briefly as senior adviser at the Multinational Joint Taak Force with headquarters in Ndjamena
He also served as Senior Special Assistant to the former President on Foreign Affairs/International Relations.
