The meeting scheduled for Monday between the Federal Government and the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has been postponed.
President of ASUU, Emmanuel Osodeke, revealed that the meeting called to prevent the union’s planned strike, would now hold on Wednesday.
The union had threatened to go on strike over the failure of the Federal Government to honour the 2009 agreement it had with its leadership.
ASUU wants improved welfare for its members as well as increased funding for the universities, among other things.
