The list of 23 players for the Super Eagles’ African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Benin and Rwanda in September has been released.
The Eagles will play Benin in the first match on 7 September in Nigeria and will then play Rwanda on 10 September in Kigali.
Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen is back in the squad while Captain William Ekong is also back, with Atalanta striker, Ademola Lookman also available for the matches.
The squad has goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali who plies his trade at Chippa United, South Africa leading the charge and will be supported by Maduka Okoye of Udinese FC in Italy and Amas Obasogie OF Bendel Insurance.
In the midfield for the Eagles are Wilfred Ndidi of Leicester City, Frank Onyeka of Brentford FC, Alex Iwobi of Fulham, all in England, among others.
In the striking department for the Eagles apart from Osimhen and Lookman, there are also Samuel Chukwueze (AC Milan), Kelechi Iheanacho, Sevilla, Taiwo Awoniyo, Nottingham Forest, among others.
