In recent times, social media platforms have accommodated a number of new engineers to keep it going and on track. And by the word engineers, it connotes entertainers who would rather be referred to as content creators. They have come like aliens, not bearing bad news, but with the intention of adding more ingredients and supplements to ensure social media appears more entertaining, gripping, educating, and attention grabbing for its users.
However, content creation did not start today. It started in the 2010s with the likes of Mark Angel Comedy, Thespian Nozy, Baba Adan, Akpos, Bovi, and Basket Mouth, among others, when YouTube was their major platform for shareability and distributions. But as social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and the like become more flexible and feasible for users, Nigerians began to navigate the media more, as they tried finding diverse ways to make these media platforms more entertaining, informative, and educating. We had new faces in the content space. But there was a surge in the creative sphere during COVID-19, as we witnessed more creatives in the content space.
It was during this time that social platforms, including Likee, TikTok, and Snapchat got popularized by Nigerians as there was more record of traffic on these platforms. Iyabo Ojo, Sabinus, Broda Shaggi and Brain Jotter were key factors of this development. Since then, social media has begun to welcome more content creators.
Year-in-year-out, we have new faces, as some people go and another set of content creators come in, which has made the entertainment space larger than ever. And one of the content creators that has come with his gift of content creation is Makuochukwu Ohabueze Destiny, fondly known as “Real Don Daddy”.
Real Don Daddy is a content creator with an absolute different content from his contemporaries. Born on June 6, 1994, in Okija (Anambra State), a small town that is significant in shaping him to whatever he is today and would later become. He spent his formative years in Okija, with a strong connection to the community where he belongs and its values.
His educational journey began at Okija Community Pilot School, which served as an offshoot for his future success. For his secondary education, he attended Okija Grammar School, which also played a significant role in his life. However, it was during this time that Destiny felt an unmistakable calling to serve God, as this marked the beginning of his journey as a chosen man of God.
In 2018, while Real Don Daddy was still in high school, to spread the world the Gospel of Christ, he took his first step into evangelism as that is one of the quickest and fastest ways to reach people; both the believers and unbelievers.
A year after he had recognised that he was called by God, he had a mouthwatering and unparalleled experience that would later establish and confirm him as a chosen vessel. During a community prayer meeting in his town, a young girl suddenly fell into convulsions, raising fear among the attendees. However, through God and Holy Spirit’s inspiration and power, Real Don Daddy interceded calmly into the bothersome situation with a fervent prayer of deliverance. The girl’s convulsions stopped and she regained consciousness. This miraculous event was a turning point for Destiny, solidifying his belief in the power of prayer and his role as a minister of God.
Consequently, to spread his anointing as a chosen one by God and to reach a larger audience, he started off his ministerial calling as a content creator on social media as that is the easiest route in this digital age where people are connected. He has consistently employed social media platforms such as Facebook, Tiktok, and Instagram to navigate the world and reach his prospective followers. Aside from sharing the testimonies of his beneficiaries and working miracles on social media, he as well creates religious and spiritual content where he’s found praying for people, organising sessions, interceding for people spiritually, and offering new months’ prayers to his followers.
He has also collaborated with other content creators, including Flowerboy and Untouchable Comedies, as they have also helped in his ministerial journey. In one of his videos online, he was seen rescuing a lady and her other siblings from the spiritual bondage that was buried as an item in their backyard by their mother, through the prayer of revival and deliverance.
As a result, many people both home and abroad have attested to his exhibition of prophetic, delivering, and healing gifts, as the sick have been healed and those in shackles have also been freed countless times from their spiritual burdens. For a clear doubt, social media is proof. His working miracles and deliverance has yielded him the name “Pastor,” as he is fondly called by his people and loved ones.
Beyond ministry, he is a philanthropist who has contributed his own quota to the community and region where he belongs. Of late, he visited the home of the legendary Mike Ejeagha, the folkloric musician, who trended online recently with the popular song titled, “Gwo Gwo Ngwo.” On his visit to his clan, he gave the man some gifts and cash.
Real Don Daddy’s life is a testament to the power of faith, prayer, and dedication. From his humble beginnings in Okija to his current ministry as an online content creator, he has remained committed to serving God and helping others.
