The recently evicted Big Brother Naija pair, Zion Ogiefa and Chinwe Elibe, jointly known as Zinwe, have revealed that the reality show has had a positive impact on their relationship.
Speaking during a virtual interview on Thursday, the duo shared insights into how the experience helped them navigate and strengthen their bond.
Zinwe, who were evicted during Sunday’s live show, admitted to facing several misunderstandings while on the show, leading to a brief breakup.
However, they both acknowledged that the challenges they encountered have ultimately made their relationship stronger.
“Going into the show has impacted positively on our relationship. Now, we know how to handle situations better,” said Chinwe.
“If we hadn’t been on the show, we would have our real-life issues and might have handled them differently, probably even breaking up earlier. Biggie’s house gave us the chance to confront these situations, and having gone through that together, we’ve come out stronger.”
Zion echoed her sentiments, adding that the show was a valuable learning experience.
“The Big Brother Naija show was definitely a learning experience for us. We’ve learned patience and resilience. I had good relationships with most of the housemates, so it was a fun and enriching experience. I got to engage with people from different backgrounds and cultures,” he said.
Despite the rocky days they faced during the competition, the Zinwe pair reassured their fans that their relationship remains intact.
Zion emphasized that their relationship did not start because of the show, and it won’t end because of it either.
“Big Brother Naija has come and gone, but our relationship is still standing strong,” Zion stated.
“We knew going into the show, with our relationship just five months old, that it would come with lots of criticism and scrutiny, and we were prepared for that. We also understand that rocky days are normal in any relationship; they are part of the learning process.”
