Bishop Oke stated, "I have been informed that PFN Lagos has been praying and fasting for a new era. The new era you have been seeking is now here. We are entering a time of unprecedented abundance, with both former and latter rain. This season will restore what has been lost and bring renewal to every church through fellowship."
The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Lagos chapter has inaugurated a new set of executives, with Bishop Francis Wale Oke, National President of PFN, urging the new leadership to prioritise unity and strengthen fellowship within the Pentecostal community.
During the inauguration ceremony at Covenant Nation, Iganmu Lagos, Bishop Oke prayed for the 12 newly appointed executives and provincial chairmen.
He emphasized that unity is crucial for the church’s health and growth, and expressed confidence that the new era the PFN Lagos has been praying for has arrived.
He called for closing old chapters and embracing the future.
Bishop Oke stated, “I have been informed that PFN Lagos has been praying and fasting for a new era. The new era you have been seeking is now here. We are entering a time of unprecedented abundance, with both former and latter rain. This season will restore what has been lost and bring renewal to every church through fellowship.”
He added, “Lagos PFN shall not be ashamed. The new era that the outgoing executives have prayed for is upon us. Let us come together, close the old chapter, and move forward. The chosen leaders are the best because God has selected them.”
Archbishop Joseph Ojo, National Chairman of the Inauguration Committee, advised the new chairman, Pastor Akinyemi Davids, to lead as a chief servant.
“In PFN, you are a chief servant, not a master. Serve diligently and share both the labour and the glory. It is a collective responsibility, and seeking your own glory is not the path,” he said.
In his inaugural speech, Pastor Davids, founder of Global Impact Church, highlighted unity as his primary focus.
He stressed that a divided church cannot make a significant impact.
“We will work towards reconciling aggrieved parties and uniting the church as the Lord guides us. I have spent considerable time praying for the Lagos Church, and I am committed to strengthening the body of Christ,” he stated.
Pastor Davids also emphasized the importance of focusing on the essence of being Pentecostal.
“PFN is not a political party but a fellowship. We must come together in love to impact society and fulfill our mission,” he said.
