The Concerned Rivers People (CRP) has criticized the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum for their recent statement on the political crisis in Rivers State.

The group accused the PDP governors of failing to promote justice, peace, and stability.

The group took issue with the forum’s invocation of “espirit de corps” in their intervention, which they saw as a one-sided posture favoring Governor Siminalayi Fubara over Nyesom Wike.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, CRP’s Director of Communications, Robinson Uke, expressed disappointment that the governors’ forum chose to “fuel massive destabilization” instead of seeking peace.

He argued that the notion of governors having absolute control over party structures in their states is the root cause of the problem.

Uke emphasized that justice is essential for peace and that the PDP Governors Forum has sacrificed justice for the sake of camaraderie.

Robinson stated that if Fubara wants to lead the PDP in Rivers State, he must earn it, and that Wike will not be intimidated.

The CRP advised the governors’ forum to caution any governor who is wrong and seek peace, rather than intimidating party members with their office.

The statement concluded by highlighting the importance of recognizing local political dynamics and the need for governors to respect other party leaders.
